Bluefin Sport sponsor The Mary Peters Trust ‘Make it Happen’ awards

Bluefin Sport have partnered with the Mary Peters Trust to become the sponsor for their ‘Make it Happen’ awards in 2015. This new special award is for two of the most promising athletes in Northern Ireland and is designed to provide much needed financial support help them to fulfil their potential. The recipients of the award are sixteen year old cyclist Shenna McKiverigan, recently recruited by Team Sky, and Commonwealth Games table tennis ace Ashley Robinson.

The Mary Peters Trust was established in 1972 to commemorate Mary Peters' Gold medal achievement at the Munich Olympics with the aim of encouraging and assisting Ulster Sports persons to achieve their potential through sport and this funding will assist the pair with training and development costs.

Alyn Spratt, Bluefin Sports’ Head of Sport for Northern Ireland, commented:

"We are extremely proud to be associated with Dame Mary Peters and the fantastic work of the trust in supporting young athletes. Supporting this years the 'Make it Happen' award is a great way for us to show our local support for emerging talents and we really look forward to following Shenna and Ashley’s progress throughout the year."
